I booked on-line to hire a van for two days this week. The instructions were easy to follow. The pick-up was painless and the gentleman was polite and informative regarding my hire. I had made a minor mistake on my booking which was quickly corrected and the Van was ready very quickly. Drop off was easy and speedy. I had left my car at the site and I was confident it was safe for the two days I was away. Payment was simple with the only minor down side was the refund of the deposit taking 3-5 working days. I would still give the company a 5 star review and highly recommend them as a hire company.

This is a local firm with real spirit and community awareness! I needed a van quite urgently to transport a huge load of used football kit for the charity with which I work, KitAid. Abacus were on the ball straight away and able to furnish me with a van at a more than competitive price! I initially only needed a car for a few days but have now extended my car hire three times. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff. They have been helpful, happy and professional. The cost was competitive with others in the area and I was able to pick the car up the afternoon before my booking was booked for free of charge. Dear abacus vehicle hire, On Saturday 26th August 23, my wife and I hired a vehicle from your company. Unfortunately, I completely got my details wrong and asked for the wrong day actually needing the hire for the Sunday, the 27th Aug 23. Realising my mistake (a few hours later) I contacted the team in Andover. Alan the original operative took the issue in hand and got to work on the situation using extremely polite and reassuring language, this made me feel I was in good hands. The following day I returned to the Andover branch and actually spoke with Alan, again reassuring, calm and extremely helpful. This made the whole day a lot easier and enabled me to plan the rest of the event without any need to worry. Alan then gave a comprehensive and detailed brief on the documentation and then familiarising me with the vehicle, to ensure I was happy and content to be on my way. Just to put this into perspective, I work in an organisation with approximately five hundred people in my particular region, with three area managers, sixteen site manager, thirty-six supervisors and the rest are good hard-working staff. I personally know; what good looks like. As the lead officer and line managing those people, I can assure you Alan's engagement profile would be in my top ten employees, showing excellent customer service, attention to detail with a very professional front of house presences. Please thank Alan for his slick professional engagement and demeanour. He is a credit to himself and abacus service delivery. I will be back and I am spreading the word on this excellent level of service.

Their neighbours are not so friendly and will fine you if you park in the wrong spot. Check the marked spaces. Once you are past the first speed bump you should be OK.

Website was clear and precise with pricing, on arrival staff were very friendly, helpful and went the extra mile checking over the van knowing we had many miles to cover in a day. I have been using Abacus rental cars for the past 3yrs on and off for mainly long term rentals (months at a time). I was previously renting from a big rental company who were expensive, had terrible customer service and had absolutely no loyalty to a customer who travels alot and rents from them worldwide. Then I found Abacus. Their customer service is faultless in my opinion (very unusual for the UK). Friendly, helpful staff and clean, well maintained cars. Their process is seamless and they were always great about extending my rental periods at the last minute. Definitely better to support local businesses as they tend to care a lot more about the customer and the quality of their product/service.

Good, hassle-free overnight van rental. Had a decent VW Transporter in red. Friendly staff and good at doing their own vehicle condition check with you before you leave. As mentioned when dropping off the keys, please try to keep the greasy dashboard cleaner away from the pedals and driver footwell... whilst it's great for that area to be clean, it doesn't need to be shiny and slippy! Thanks again.
